Come with me, if you will, into the very life of the last quarter of the eighteenth century; forget the hum of the airplane overhead, the noise of the motor and the busy whirl of present day life, and retire with me to an old Harford County house only a scant ten minutes off the beaten track, but yet so forgotten and retired that even the short trip there will rapidly reverse the reel of our present day life. When we start our study of Doctor John Archer, at his very home, old "Medical Hall," we will have chosen the atmosphere where we can properly attempt to visualize the daily life of the first graduate of medicine in America.
