Preparation of cellulose fibres with antibacterial Ag-loading nano-SiO2

The antibacterial cellulose fibres with acrylamide polymerization and Ag-loading SiO2 nanoantibacterial materials were successfully prepared. The chemical structures and morphologies of antibacterial cellulose fibres were characterized by Fourier transformation infrared spectrum (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results showed that acrylamide was adsorbed on the surface of the cellulose fibres and formed a layer with thickness of 50a€“100 nm. The nano-SiO2 composite antibacterial materials were combined with cellulose fibres firmly by infiltrating into polyacrylamide layer about 100 nm. The antibacterial cellulose fibres with antibacterial layer owned excellent antibacterial effect.
