Fan control system solves biomass boiler flue problem

Before a business can benefit from the cost savings and environmental kudos that biomass boilers can bring, they have to get planning permission for the boiler-house chimney. Problems then ensue because councils tend to follow out-of-date government guidance notes about stack height, flue gas velocity and pollutant dispersion when considering planning applications for the installation of modern biomass boilers and their chimneys. The suggested calculation is based on outdated values for particles and assumes flue gas temperatures calculated using much older and less efficient boiler technologies.
