However we may define the world science in some philsophical or epistemological system, it is clear that it begins with the use of previous observations for the prediction of the future. In this sense the spirit as well as the performance of science must have existed in the reasonable behavior of man, even as he was embarking on his career of creating, constructing, and developing culture.
