Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC)

SDDC is the DOD's manager for all aspects of surface movements to include planning, booking, shipping, and tracking cargo and ammunition for the warfighter anywhere in the world.rnSDDC provides global surface deployment and distribution services to meet the nation's objectives.rnThe command is headquartered at both Scott AFB, IL, and Fort Eustis, VA, and has a workforce of more than 2100 military and civilians. Even though the command does not own a single vehicle, it procures more than $1.8 billion annually in commercial truck, rail, barge, pipeline, and ocean transportation services.rnSDDC is the Army Service Component Command to USTRANSCOM (for operations) and a Major Subordinate Command to Army Materiel Command (for administration).
