The Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) links the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise with the Army's Materiel Enterprise as the Army component of US Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM)rnand a Major Subordinate Command to Army Materiel Command. SDDC serves as the Department of Defense's (DOD) global surface transportation expert by planning, booking, shipping, and tracking cargo; conducting port operations; and managing personal property moves for Warfighters and other federal employees, including their families.
