Military Sea lift Command (MSC)

The Navy's Military Sealift Com-mand (MSC) provides ocean transportation for DOD cargo to sustain US forces worldwide during peacetime and in war. More than 90 percent of all the equipment and sup-plies needed to sustain the US military are carried by sea. MSC also operates Naval Fleet Auxiliary Force ships that replenish and support the Navy fleet at sea as well as Special Mission ships that serve as at-sea platforms for vari-ous Navy and other federal govern-ment agencies.
