rothe erde® wire-race bearings - Equipped for tomorrow's mission

For the turret bearing of the Armoured Infantry Fighting Vehicle Puma, we designed a double-row, inclined-axis, wire-race roller bearing. The bearing system, with zero play, is characterised in particular by its uniform friction torque even under distortion of the accompanying structure. This construction represents the state-of- the-art in bearing technology for gun turrets, and transfers the axial- and radial forces as well as tilting moments that occur, with a high degree of accuracy during rotating and slewing moments.
