The Puma Armoured Infantry Fighting Vehicle - Future-Viable Equipment for Mechanised Infantry

With the introduction of the Puma Armoured Infantry Fighting Vehicle (AIFV), the German Army now has the most advanced weapon system of mechanised infantry at its disposal. Owing to innovative technologies, it is superior to any comparable system and is currently state of the art. The Puma AIFV, however, is not an evolutionary variant of known infantry fighting vehicle concepts. It is rather a result of progressive innovations, creating a new yardstick with respect to effect, mobility, C~2 capability and reconnaissance.
