F-35 Client States Forced to Begin Re-Thinking

Ten major military powers, at least, will need now to begin re-thinking how they intend to project power into the mid-21 st Century with the very real prospect that the US Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter aircraft program could be scrapped unilaterally by the lead partner in the program, the US Government. Eight US allies committed investment funds to become partners in the program, not only putting a significant financial stake into the program, but also committing their domestic defense industries to the F-35.
