Brazil: Brazilian Foreign Minister Ernesto Araujo On March 29,2021, submitted his resignation to Pres. Jair Bolsonaro amid controversy over the Government's problems securing more COVID-19 vaccines. Significantly, Sr Araujo had been seen as a loyal ally of the President, and a strong critic of the People's Republic of China (PRC), and there was little doubt that the PRC lobby within the legislature had escalated its pressure for him to be removed. He was replaced by diplomat Carlos Alberto Franca.
