The Navy’s latest future aviation vision plans expects the service to save $300 million annuallydue to a maintenance effort and leaves out earlier consideration of adding a light carrier to thefuture force.The report, Navy Aviation Vision 2030-2035, said the Navy has working groups helping toimprove survivability, sustainment and lethality in the naval aviation field. In this case, theNaval Sustainment System-Aviation (NSS-A) project has a cost mission that aims to identifyinitial and recurring costs needed to sustain an increased number of mission capable aircraftnow and in the future.
