EXPORT SALES OF MAJOR AIRCRAFT HELP DRIVE DEMAND FOR IMPORTANT EW SYSTEM

Production of the ALR-56 radar warning receiver (RWR) will continue through the over the next several years for a number of platforms, including F-15s, F-16s, and C-130s. While much of this production will be for installation on U.S. military aircraft, the system will also be procured for a variety of international applications as part of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) of U.S. aircraft. In May 2018, the U.S. State Department approved an FMS to Germany of three C-130J-30 aircraft and three KC-130J aircraft for an estimated cost of $1.40 billion. Included in the sale are eight ALE 47 countermeasure dispensers (one per aircraft, plus two spares); eight AAR-47A(V)2 Missile Warning Systems (one per aircraft, plus spares); and eight ALR-56M RWRs (one per aircraft, plus two spares).
