Geospatial data interoperability and global security

摘要

Nations and agencies around the world all share a common need for information sharing and a geospatial intelligence reference base that enables users to view and assess defence information on a worldwide scale. Several initiatives to improve information sharing, collaboration and situational awareness have been adopted by national defence departments and multinational organisations such as the UN and Nato. All of these initiatives share common demands, including open standards-based interoperability, seamless integration of geospatial assets into mainstream IT infrastructure, scalable solutions and component-based technology.
