RAPID RESPONSE WITH REAL-TIME CONNECTIVITY

The US PM Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Defense and the National Guard Bureau tasked the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) to supply a self-contained, stand-alone mobile communications platform. The main criterion was that this platform would provide voice and data communications capabilities in support of emerging Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Teams (WMD-CST). NAWCAD subsequently provided the engineering and technical services for the design, development, integration, testing, training and maintenance of 36 unified command suites (UCS). These UCSs include 32 teams, two operation-ready floats and two systems dedicated to training.
