A long range vision

Established across four key sites in the Outer Hebridean islands of Benbecula, South Uist and St Kilda, the Hebrides Air Range controls over 30,000km2 of air space stretching out from the north west of Scotland into the Atlantic Ocean. It has been responsible for testing both ground-to-air, and air-to-air complex weapons systems since its inception in 1957, and was recently instrumental in the development of Sea Viper.
