摘要

The provision of Service Family Accommodation (SFA) is one of the most emotive areas of responsibility for the new Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), and one by which the success or failure of the organisation will be largely judged in the public mind and by service families who have an expectation of good quality accommodation. The DIO has also to fulfil its function within the reform agenda of the MoD and was created this year with the endorsement of the Defence Reform Unit, which detailed in its June report that as a new infrastructure model and single organisation, the DIO 'quite deliberately represents a shift to a more corporate, professionally based approach'.
