Short Gap Crossing gets approval from MoD

Anew multipurpose, ultra-lightweight portable bridging system - The Short Gap Crossing - has been chosen by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) to help dismounted British soldiers to cross physical obstacles whilst on operations in Afghanistan. Working with BMT Defence Services and the MoD Manoeuvre Support Team, Alpha Composites Ltd has provided the answer to the problem faced daily by British soldiers on foot patrol in Afghanistan: that of crossing a network of wadis, canals and ditches, many of which are mined with improvised explosive devices.
