For over 140 years Somers Forge Ltd (Formerly Walter Sorners) has been in open die forging. The company has a long-established relationship with the maritime industry, supplying propulsion shafts to the UK Admiralty since 1912. Today we work with navies throughout the world, Somers' capabilities allow propulsion shafts up to 23m in length to be manufactured to print, from forging through to finished product. The 4000T hydraulic press, one of the most modern and capable in the world, has the ability to forge shafts up to 50 tonnes in weight.
