The story of the SAS War Diary begins in the days after the end of World War II. In late 1945, a former SAS soldier tasked himself with one final mission. The Special Air Service, formed in the Western Desert of North Africa in 1941, had been disbanded, and there were no plans to resurrect it. The soldier's mission was simple but extraordinary: to find and preserve whatever documentation he could before the SAS was forgotten and its story lost forever.
