The victory of BADAR was achieved due to the most inspiring and incomparable leadership of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). The small band of devotees had displayed unblemished faith in Allah and the Apostle of Allah. Their loyalty was pure and true. Despite their meager numbers, shortage of weapons and provisions they had won a decisive victory. No doubt it was a proof of divine support, but God helped those who helped themselves. Thus Islam had come to stay and conversion continued vigorously. According to GLUBB, "The victory of BEDR was a milestone in the early history of Islam. Had the Muslims been defeated or had MUHAMAD (PBUH) been killed, the new sect might well have disappeared instead of, as it did, gaining fresh converts and increased prestige."
