The worldwide market for pico and pocket projectors grew 125% in Q3 compared with the same period last year, according to Pacific Media Associates, front projector market analysts. This high-growth category includes all models that deliver less than 500 lumens of brightness. Of the five segments that comprise this category, the pico companion segment - which includes standalone battery powered models - grew from about 45,000 units in Q3 2009 to more than 100,000 units in Q3 2010, making it the largest segment.
