Except there is a small software glitch that is preventing the latest version of Apple CarPlay to function from a recent iOS update. Sound like something familiar and plausible in our world? Now imagine the ability of the manufacturer to send the software update right to the head unit, avoiding the irate customer from returning to your shop. That is the beauty of Over-the-Air (OTA) updates. They are now in place with OEM manufacturers such as Ford and Nissan, but were ultimately pioneered by Tesla. In fact, Tesla even allows for beta versions of their Autopilot' and 'Tesla Summon' that can back your Tesla out of the garage for you.
