摘要

Fly height continues to be the major contributor to magnetic spacing, which in turn is directly related to increases in areal density and where the most significant reductions are projected to take place. Table 1 summarizes the relationship of projected growth in areal density with the scaling down of magnetic spacing. To meet this challenge, advanced HGA-suspension designs are being developed, and manufacturing parameters such as pitch and roll are being brought into tighter tolerances.
