摘要

This is a very timely book, given two more or less independent movements “withinndeconstruction” that have been taking place in recent decades. On the one hand, as WANGnYouru notes in his excellent introduction, Derridean deconstructive strategies of différancnand aporia which suspend, defer, or displace dualities (rather than totally eliminating on“identifying” them) have been, since the 1980s, applied to South and East Asiannphilosophical/religious texts in increasingly sophisticated ways. On the other hand, Derridnhimself in the late 1980s (and partly under the influence of Levinas) began moving towardnmore overtly “ethical” modes of reflection, ways of thinking about the difference andnsingularity of the “other” in a more explicitly social and political context.
