This year has not been an easy one for the UK dairy industry, with the effects of low milk prices and the foot and mouth crisis likely to be felt for some time to come. But the bringing together of over 140 cheesemakers at the British Cheese Awards in Stow-on-the Wold, Gloucestershire, was a demonstration of the determination and commitment engrained in the industry.
