Ups and downs in dairy

Two recent reports landing on my desk made for interesting reading, both of them from the UK's Milk Development Council. The MDC has looked at raw milk contracts in the UK, and attempted to make sense of the somewhat byzantine methods by which milk prices are determined for sale and purchase in England. It showed the supply chain as it is in England, not as farmers or dairy processors would wish it to be. It also provided some suggestions to gain clarity and stability in the market - required reading for everybody in the dairy supply chain in the UK, from farmer to retailer.
