So the 30 year decline in British milk consumption has Finally reversed. There are numerous theories being put forward for this reversal: we're drinking more lattes and cappuccinos; we're choosing fad diets; we're eating more porridge; we're choosing milk drinks like smoothies over carbonated beverages. All very laudable. But there's another segment of the population turning to milk - children. The Milk Development Council's school milk project and match-funded school milk bar initiative have turned half a million new children on to milk, and accounts for 20 million litres.
