Rodda's Creamery has been around since 1890, and is the largest independent creamery in Cornwall, UK. It is still situated on the side of the original family farmstead at Scorrier and its Cornish clotted cream is renowned for its golden crust and distinctive 'silky' flavour. The company also produces butter, fresh cream, skimmed milk and creme fraiche and in 1999, it led the campaign to get Cornish clotted cream European Union protected designation of origin (PDO) status, which was successful. Despite being a local company with customers such as hotels, shops and cafes in Cornwall, the Soil Association-certified firm also has an international aspect. It exports to countries such as Japan, Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi, and counts the major UK supermarkets as its customers, along with several airlines.
