The dairy industry in the UK is set for a shakeup, with the possible introduction of a several thousand head dairy farm in Lincolnshire. This proposal has drawn fire from organisations as diverse as the World Society for the Protection of Animals for its high cattle count. However, as Dairy UK's Jim Begg has noted, the UK has to compete in the world dairy market, and competitiveness is vital.
