Swiss milk deliveries drop

Swiss dairies in the first quarter of 2015 received less milk supply than in the same period last year. Milk deliveries from January to March fell to 880,235 tons in the country, which is a decrease of 1.8% compared to 2014, reports Swiss analysis organisation TSM Treuhand. The production of milk for human consumption reduced in the first three months by 2.6% to 117,317 tons, while butter production increased by 3.4% to 13,490 tons. The butter stocks in April included 5,474 tons, which (compared to the same month last year) is an increase of 4.2%. In the first quarter of this year, 1,328 tons of butter were exported, which is more than 189 tons over the previous year.
