Two people involved in the melamine milk scandal in China have been executed. The scandal involved tainted milk powder and resulted in six children dying. More than 300,000 other infants were made ill from milk powder contaminated with melamine, an industrial chemical used to make plastics and fertiliser. Geng Jinping and Zhang Yujun are the only people to have been executed over the scandal, court officials say. Nineteen other people were sentenced to prison terms.
