The issue of waste and Gen Z

You may be forgiven if you think this is a waste-full issue this month, but in truth it is more about using the resources available for a lower carbon footprint. We look at how dairy farms are utilising waste products for energy on page 25, and see how emulsifiers company Palsgaard has made straw into a heating resource at its headquarters in Denmark on page 22. As the emulsifier company celebrates its centenary, it knows that sustainability is not just a slogan. Meanwhile, Dairy UK has surveyed the upcoming Generation Z (4-24 year olds), and the results may surprise you. We hear a lot of negative comments about dairy from the endless internet clatter, but the young people of today are more switched on and less liable to accept negative news at face value. What they want is quality information, but they're not always sure where to get it and who to trust to provide it. Please see page 18 for the report.
