"An Utopian architecture inspired by WWW and contemporary design. The Lituanian Pavilion is expressed by the shape itself, which symbolizes the modern society's aspiration to become more dynamic, communicable and open. The pavilion in its essence is an Object (informational capsule) rather than a traditional building. Rejecting traditional monumentalism, it has been designed as a consummate Thing consciously non-responding to the inside environment. Separate functional elements and levels within the pavilion have been designed as closed and clearly perceivable forms lingering in space. In such a way an illusion of the "own" space is created and the state of weightlessness as in a flight is imparted. By its "landing" on the site it gives an impression of temporary stay" (Audrius Bucas, 2000).
