INTELLIGENT INFORMATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT

Knowledge Management (KM) today has to deal with enormous challenges related to the broad spectrum of issues covering information science, artificial intelligence, information technology, computer science, and engineering, just to name a few. Learning and knowledge sharing between individuals and organizations are tipped to help to create a better future for our information society. The border between disciplines involved in KM is becoming one of the most rapidly changing scientific fields. New technologies and concepts are developed there, and the old ones are influenced by, for example, artificial intelligence or soft modeling approaches. In such an ever-evolving environment, researchers and professionals need access to the most current information about the concepts, issues, trends and technologies in this area. This Special Issue of cybernetics and systems (CBS) tries to help to meet this need by putting together articles from a number of different research centers located in Australia and Europe. It contains carefully selected and peer-reviewed articles on some KM topics that may be of interest to the cybernetics and systems community. This issue includes a selection of articles that are only a small sample of an enormous number of research areas represented within the KM area.
