Global Change and Tourism in National Capitals

National capitals are important destinations in their own right and make a leading contribution to the image and representation of their country, whilst their historic centres are important components of (contested) national heritages. As a result, they attract large numbers of visitors, and exemplify themes that apply in other cities and areas. Yet despite that, research on tourism in national capitals has been limited until recently.
