The CTA in Wales is to co-ordinate the accessible transport provision for the 2014 International Paralympic Committee Games, being held in Swansea in August. This follows the success of 24 community transport operators from London and the south of England in providing transport for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, as well as operators in Wales assisting with the transport of teams that were training in the country. The CTA in Wales anticipates that its members will transport more than 800 athletes and staff from their points of entry, such as Cardiff and Bristol airports, to the championship accommodation based at Swansea University. It is expected that about 160 people will be wheelchair users. Commmunity transport operators will also move luqqaqe and equipment.
