On 31 May 2010, past president Mike Scales FCIS FCS retired as Regional Company Secretary of HSBC. Mike's contribution to the Institute and the profession of Chartered Secretaries has been as inspirational as it has been valuable. This month's 'In profile' column (see pages 16-20) talks to Mike about his achievements and thoughts, but I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Mike on behalf of the Council, and Institute as a whole, for his massive contribution to the success and standing of the HKICS and the profession of Chartered Secretaries in Hong Kong.
