After 6 years and 3 days on a bicycle, Thomas Andersen, OZ1AA/K9DXX, arrived home in Copenhagen, Denmark after cycling over 36,000 miles around the world through 58 countries. One of Thomas's goals for the trip was to meet other ham radio operators and learn about their culture and way of life in different countries. Andersen told the ARRL in a 2015 interview: "For me, the chance to meet new people, to make new friends, and to see and learn about their way of life is the true highlight of the trip. Ham radio certainly plays a big role in making that possible."
