Some of our readers may not be familiar with Software Defined Radio, also known as SDR. I must admit I was aware of the term and had seen what looked like a colorful waterfall on a computer screen, but it wasn't until I was researching how SDR could aid in emergency communications that I discovered what an extremely useful tool it really is.
