The W6AQY repeater was a private repeater located in the mountains above San Fernando, California. It was located on Contractors Point at about 3,500-feet elevation. The site was obtained with a Special Use Permit from the U.S. Forest Service. This secret repeater was constructed around 1963 and had a code name of "Brian," named after the new son of one of my friends. It may be the only repeater with its own name.
