Active hams are quite familiar with the adage, "If you can't hear them, then you can't work them." Not being able to hear a DX station while reports are coming in on the various DX clusters is frustrating; especially when that QSO counts for a needed multiplier in a contest or for an "all-time new one" (ATNO). To add insult to injury, it's even more frustrating when you're able to get the station's attention, but QRN and poor band conditions makes it virtually impossible for you to accurately copy the station's report. You're not sure if the weak station is responding to you or to someone else. Frustrating as it is, we've all been there. This is a common scenario for most of us and what's a ham radio operator to do? Is there any relief in sight?
