SHUFFLEBOTTOM ACHIEVES 10,000TH BUILDING

The steel-framed building company Shufflebottom Ltd, 25 years old in May 2011, has reached another major milestone -the company's 10,000th steel-framed building since its records began. "We are continuing to grow despite the recession," said director Alex Shufflebottom. Martin and Lorna Shufflebottom, parents of Alex and her brother and fellow-director Wesley, launched into business making metal gates in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, in 1977 and after nearly ten years of making buildings, set up Shufflebottom Ltd in 1986. Martin died tragically in a helicopter accident in 1993 and Lorna ran the growing business until 2008, when three of the company's managers - Alex and Wesley, and general manager Alec Davies - took over the ownership in a management buy-out.
