摘要

The acidification damage in the external anode mortar caused by the anodic reactions significantly influences the efficiency of impressed current cathodic protection for reinforced concrete. In this study, novel lightweight functional aggregates (LFA) were proposed to mitigate the acidification damage in the external anode mortar. The results indicated that LFA maintained the high catalytic activity of the primary anode; furthermore, the acidification damage in the secondary mortar was halted both in the vicinity of the primary anode and at aggregate/mortar matrix interface. The prepared LFA can be potentially applied for the preparation of the external anode mortar for ICCP treatment.
