Recommendations for the calculation of pollution loads for the dimensioning of municipal aeration plants

When dimensioning municipal aeration plants, people often rely on 85 percentile values for inflow and pollution loads, or even on data form reference literature. On the other hand, ARA-BER is a comfortable dimensioning programme which allows designers to take account of different load conditions over the year when dimensioning such plants, and this without much additional effort. This, however, requires that input data for the dimensioning of the plant must be determined on the basis of the most current sewage analyses and that evaluation methods are used which take account of different load conditions.
