The Gottingen urban drainage department has set itself the target to gradually move towards a tight sewer system. To achieve this goal, house drains on private properties will be included into the rehabilitation projects. Within the framework of the Gottingen cooperation model, the city seeks the cooperation of the citizens concerned. Meanwhile more than 4 ooo properties have been rehabilitated in this way, and the acceptance of property owners has been extremely high. Citizens also appreciate the coordinated approach by public pipe maintenance and mad construction and maintenance authorities to dig up a road only once and perform all rehabilitation work required in one go.
