'Valuing' Corporate Governance: an introduction

The papers of this special issue are based on original submissions/presentations to the March 2003 Global Business Colloquium of the Centre for International Business and Management (CIBAM). CIBAM is a self-funded centre, founded in 1995 within the Judge Institute of Management, Cambridge Business School. It consists of a Global Advisory Board of eminent business leaders, chaired by Sir Martin Sorrell, CEO, WPP Group Plc, and an Academic Advisory Board of leading thinkers in international business and management (Professors John Dunning, Peter Buckley and John Child), prominent Business and Academic Associates, "internal" members of Cambridge University staff, and a management team led by CIBAM Director, Christos Pitelis and Associate Director, Noreena Hertz. At the time of the establishment of CIBAM, as now, the need for partnership, networking and dialogue between business and acad-emia, and beyond, was recognised. However, the nature, organisation and structure of such partnerships were, and remain, open questions.
