As the military looks ahead at the nature of conflict, two key words are mobility and speed. The force of the future is preparing for relatively small battles that require troops to move in quickly, demonstrate a show of force and then move onto the next conflict or, hopefully, return home. This would require the ability to land aircraft in remote locations to deliver troops and supplies as quickly and safely as possible, something the Joint Rapid Airfield Con-struction (JRAC) program has set out to do.
