Fit-out holds up as Morgan Sindall hits record figures

A resilient fit-out market is keeping Morgan Sindall on track for a record set of figures this year. Executive chairman John Morgan said market problems would not prevent it from surpassing 2007's record figures of ￡2.1 billion turnover and pretax profits of ￡57.6 million. The fit-out business had been expected to suffer in the first half in the wake of the credit crunch's global impact. But Mr Morgan admitted he had been surprised how well its fit-out arm was doing in the current market and said he expected the remaining half of the year to improve for this part of the business.
