Work begins on Olympic Village as ODA finds funds

Piling work began this week on the 2012 Olympic Games athletes' village after the Olympic Delivery Authority pumped in funding to get the project under way. The Olympic Village on the edge of the Olympic Park site in east London will be managed by developer Lend Lease, with Bovis Lend Lease carrying out construction. It has yet to agree its deal for the works that will see 3,500 homes built on the site, amid claims it is struggling to make the budget stack up.
